MAJ Norland James (ret.) is a Veteran and civil servant specializing in program analysis and logistics. Norland retired from the Army in 2019 after a successful 20 year career. His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, & Humanitarian Service Medal. In addition, Norland earned his Master of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix. Norland began investing in real estate when he was stationed at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC. His passion for real estate blossomed over the years as he’s diversified his portfolio with short-term vacation rental and hotel properties.   

Amina Gilyard James is a serial entrepreneur specializing in organization development/effectiveness and hospitality. She earned a doctorate in Human & Organizational Learning from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. In addition, Amina is a seasoned consultant, speaker, and investor. With nearly 10 years of real estate investment and operations experience, Amina is excited to take on the role of Managing Partner of Duke Ventures. Notably, Amina has also been recognized by the Washington Wizards as an Outstanding Community Leader in Health & Wellness and the Leadership Center for Excellence as a 40 under 40 honoree (Arlington, VA).
